As long as you stick with the 940 models or older, such as the 740. I had a '91 740 turbo and it was a dream. Routine maintenance was all it required, nothing more. Turbo-equipped cars need more frequent oil changes than their non-turbo counterparts. I changed mine every 1500-2000 miles. All you have to do is take care of a Volvo and it will take care of you. Keep in mind that I am only speaking of older models, not the junk that Volvo is producing today.
